Creative and Performing Arts Experience

Before training as a counsellor, I spent many years working professionally in the performing arts and wider creative industries. This experience gave me a first-hand understanding of the unique pressures that can accompany creative careers, including performance anxiety, self-doubt, rejection, public scrutiny, inconsistent work, and the challenge of balancing creativity with personal wellbeing.

Alongside my counselling practice, I continue to work with performers and creative professionals. While I work with adults from all backgrounds, this experience enables me to offer an informed understanding of the emotional demands that can come with life in the creative industries.

Lived Experience

Living with Type 1 diabetes has given me a personal understanding of the emotional and mental load that can come with managing a long-term health condition. While every person's experience is different, I understand how managing a condition can affect much more than purely physical health.
